Welcome to Perfect Viewer X ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our application Perfect Viewer X (the "App").

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

We may collect information that you voluntarily provide when using the App:

  • Google Account Information: When you sign in with Google, we access your Google account information (email address and profile name) for authentication purposes.
  • App Settings and Preferences: Your reading preferences, bookmarks, reading history, and customization settings are stored locally on your device. You can optionally backup these settings to your Google Drive.

Information Collected Automatically

The App does not automatically collect any personal information, analytics data, or usage statistics. We do not use any third-party analytics or tracking services.

Files and Content

The App accesses files on your device and cloud storage (Google Drive) only when you explicitly choose to open them using Google Picker API. Additionally, the App supports direct access to files on SMB, FTP, FTPS, SFTP, and WebDAV servers when you provide connection credentials. We do not upload, copy, or store your files on our servers. All file processing and server connections occur locally on your device.

Google Integration

Perfect Viewer X uses Google Sign-In and Google Drive API for authentication and settings backup. Here's how we handle your Google data:

Scopes We Request

  • drive.file: To backup and restore your app settings to/from your Google Drive (only files created by this app)
  • userinfo.email: To identify your account for authentication
  • userinfo.profile: To display your account name in the app

How We Use Google Data

  • We use Google Picker API to allow you to select and open files from your Google Drive
  • We only create, read, and modify settings backup files in your Google Drive that were created by this app
  • We do not access, modify, or share any other files in your Google Drive
  • File content from Google Drive is accessed through Google APIs and processed locally on your device
  • Your Google authentication tokens are stored securely on your device and are never transmitted to our servers

Data Retention

We do not retain any of your Google user data on our servers. Settings backup files are stored in your Google Drive and remain under your control. You can delete backup files from your Google Drive at any time. You can also revoke the App's access to your Google account at any time through your Google Account settings at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Permissions We Request

The App requires certain permissions to function properly:

  • Broad File System Access (broadFileSystemAccess): This permission allows the app to access files and folders on your device that you explicitly select. We need this permission to:
    • Read comic, e-book, and image files from any location you choose on your device
    • Access files in your Documents, Pictures, and other user-accessible folders
    • Open and display content from external drives and network locations
    This permission does not grant us automatic access to your files. You always maintain full control over which files and folders the app can access. The app only reads files when you explicitly open them through the file picker or folder browser.
  • Internet Permission: To connect to Google services for authentication and settings backup.

All permissions are used solely to provide the core functionality of the App. We do not use these permissions to collect or transmit your personal data.

Data Storage and Security

All your data (settings, bookmarks, reading history) is stored locally on your device. We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your information:

  • Authentication tokens are stored securely using platform-provided secure storage
  • No personal data is transmitted to our servers
  • All communication with Google services uses secure HTTPS connections

Third-Party Services

The App integrates with the following third-party services:

  • Google Sign-In: For authentication purposes. Google's privacy policy applies: https://policies.google.com/privacy
  • Google Drive API: For backing up and restoring your app settings. Google's terms of service apply.
  • Google Picker API: For selecting and opening files from Google Drive and other storage providers.

We do not share your information with any other third parties.

Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Access: All your data is stored locally on your device and is accessible to you at any time.
  • Deletion: You can delete all app data by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app. You can also delete settings backup files from your Google Drive.
  • Revocation: You can revoke Google access at any time through your Google Account settings.
  • Export: You can export your settings using the built-in export feature or backup to Google Drive.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
